Today I am preparing myself mentally to start training daily for the OC Marathon in January. I am actually totally excited about it. You must think I'm crazy, but setting a goal like this helps me stay on task in my work out routine. It will be running.... EVERYDAY! Hey, there is a positive. Running is one of the fastest ways to drop pounds and inches!
I have a total vitamin regiment that I have gotten from some experienced marathoners. They have told me that with the proper nutrition, the body can withstand all the training without breaking down. However, the opposite is also true. Without a proper diet and good quality supplements (they recommend Nutrilite), the training will take a toll on your body. Tomorrow I will post this vitamin program to keep you in Optimal Health during any training program!
I could not be more excited that you decided to change your life!
Would you rather...
Want to know what to do to acheive the best you? --we are talking about health here :)
First things first...
You have to realize that before anything is going to change in your life or your body, you are actually going to have to make some changes. Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes! Wow, now that was profound! JK But really it is so true!!!
Next,
Decide what your goal is... loose weight? more energy? a healthier you? live longer? more toned?
Then,
Ask for advice from someone that has what you want! Who wants to get advice from someone about playing Golf if they are not great at it?! It is actually quite amazing how many people do that when comes to trying to improve in any area of their life.
So get started right and let's set out a plan to reach your goals!
Feel free to email me for information and setting up a consultation appointment. It can be done best in person but is possible through email! phone:877-316-1466 email:hotspot2shop@gmail.com

Weight-Loss Myth: Walking vs. Running
This is another myth that has some basis in fact.
Walking burns more fat than running.
The basis for this myth is the estimate of what kind of fuel a person uses while exercising. The muscles prefer glucose (sugar) as a fuel because it can burn it more efficiently than other fuels. The harder you exercise, the more your body relies on sugar.
If you exercise slowly or less strenuously, the body shifts to burning more fat as a fuel. That’s the basis for fat-burning exercise: exercise slower and your body uses fat as a fuel.
While absolutely correct, it’s meaningless in the real world. You’d have to invest much more time in exercising slowly than if you go fast. It doesn’t mean that walking isn’t efficient--it is, but you’ll have to spend more time doing it than you will running or taking a spinning class.
Here’s the thing: it doesn’t really matter what type of fuel you use when you exercise because as long as you don’t overeat, you’ll burn up body fat when you run out of glucose. It may be hours later, but you will burn up the fat and that’s a fact.

Weight-Loss Myth: Breakfast
You may not realize it is a myth because some seem to be accepted as fact. It’s time to bust some of these myths, just like the guys on the television series.
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It jump starts your metabolism so you start burning calories right away."
There are actually two myths here. When we worked hard for 16 hours a day on a farm or a mine or the mill, a big breakfast was important because it could be many hours before you could eat another meal. Today that just isn’t the case. Many of us get out of bed, drive or ride to our job, and sit in front of a computer all day. Even farmers sit in air conditioned tractors much of the day. It doesn’t mean we don’t do physical labor at all, but for the vast majority it’s not the same intensity and duration as it used to be 200 years ago. We simply don’t need a lot of calories before starting our day. That’s not to say that you shouldn’t eat something in the morning. You should--but it doesn’t have to be breakfast at 6 a.m. It can be a break at work at 10 a.m. Breakfast should be individualized. If you’re the type who is hungry when you wake up, eat breakfast. If you’re like me, the last thing you want is to eat breakfast at 5:30--but by 9 or 10, sure.
As for jump-starting your metabolism, that comes from the dietary concept known as the Thermic Effect of Food. Simply stated, it costs calories to digest and absorb food. But you can’t create a negative balance. In other words, you can’t burn more than you eat. There are no data to suggest that you’ll burn more calories over the course of the day by eating breakfast. So don’t eat just because you think you’ll burn calories--it would be better for you to workout, which will actually burn calories, and then eat something later in the morning. Something small is ok, try one of my favorite things--- Strawberry-Kiwi Protein Smoothie(recipe below)

New commitments!
So today I refocused on my goal of optimal health! It is pretty easy when you are in a spin class that the instructor has had 3 kids and she looks amazing. I woke up early for me, 7:30am, ran to the gym where I met my husband. We did some weight and then I went into the spin class.
Now dont think that I am that active everyday! :) But I do make sure that I am either in the gym, running, or swimming no less than 4 days a week. However, things happen like vacations and such. So don't be discouraged if you didnt hit your goal this week or today. Just re-aim and dont let one decision get you unfocused from the ultimate goal of optimal health!
Anyway, I wanted to share a new product that I have found recently that is absolutely amazing! It is a protein bar that I really could close my eyes and imagine I was eating a lemon dessert. I feel like I'm cheating when I eat it!!! I found this picture of them... Click on it and it will take ya where you can get them cuz they are not available in stores.

Hope you enjoy the bars! Let me know what you think when you get them. I would love to know I'm not the only person that has fallen in love with this thing!
